Apple schließt JailbreakMe PDF Lücke

Apple hat heute bei CNET bestätigt, dass sie die JailbreakMe 2.0 Lücke identifiziert und bereits einen Fix entwicklet haben um die Lücke zu schließen.

Der Fix wird zusammen mit dem nächsten Firmware Update auf iOS 4.0.2 erscheinen. Apple wollte sich nicht auf einen genauen Veröffentlichungstermin festlegen. Wer Apple kennt wird wissen, dass es nicht mehr lange dauern kann bis das Firmware Update für alle Geräte released wird.

There are two distinct vulnerabilities in the iPhone uncovered with the jailbreak software’s release, One flaw is in the way the browser parses PDF files, enabling the code to get inside a protective sandbox, and the other hole allows code to break out of the sandbox and get root, or control, privileges on the device.
